A DoodleBox is a widget that allows you to upload a picture for your friends, or you yourself, to doodle upon. In other words, you add the photo and your friends add the bling!
If you’ve forgotten your password, click on the Forgot Password? link in the sign-in area on the homepage. Enter the email address you use to sign up and we’ll send you a link to set a new password.
A Gift DoodleBox is a DoodleBox that you have created but have chosen to ‘gift’ it to somebody else. (Very magnanimous of you, we must say!) Once that person accepts your ‘gift’, the ownership of the DoodleBox will pass to him/her. Of course, your gift can be rejected too, and in that case we suggest that you look for greener pastures.
For registering at www.actonme.com, simply follow these steps:
If you’ve clicked on someone else’s DoodleBox and been redirected to our portal, then you’ll be prompted to sign up once you’ve doodled on your friend’s DoodleBox and are in the process of saving it.
If you’ve received a Gift DoodleBox, click on it and you’ll be given the option to register and keep the gift doodle as your own.
If you’re sufficiently impressed by a friend’s DoodleBox, then we’re sure you’ll want one of your own! Here’s how you go about getting your own DoodleBox:
After you’ve made a new DoodleBox, you can save it by clicking on the Save! button at the bottom of the screen. If you’re an unregistered user or haven’t logged in to your account yet, you’ll be prompted to sign in or sign up after you click on the Save! button.
You can upload an image to your DoodleBox by using the tabs provided below the DoodleBox.
MySpace: Enter your MySpace User ID and click on the Get Images button.
Friendster: Enter your Friendster User ID and click on the Get Images button.
Hi5: Enter your Hi5 User ID and click on the Get Images button.

A DoodleBox can only have one photo for your friends to doodle upon. For different photos, make different DoodleBoxs. Look at it this way - the more photos you have, the more DoodleBoxs you can make!
A DoodleBox supports the following file types: jpg, gif, png.
The size of the image you upload is up to you. We recommend that you choose a clear picture or a close shot which your friends can easily doodle upon. Of course, if you don’t want to make it easy for them, you can upload a picture of yours that is shot from a mile away.
To make your user experience frictionless, we may sometimes change the size of your picture to an optimal one while you’re uploading it into the DoodleBox. If you’re not satisfied by the size of the picture, you can change it by clicking on the Size tab below the DoodleBox, and picking an appropriate size option from there.
You can view the size options by clicking on the Size tab below the DoodleBox. Choose one of the three options—Small, Medium or Large—to determine the way you want your picture to look in your DoodleBox.
When you’ve made a new DoodleBox, you’ll be asked to post it to your profile after you save it. Choose the site where you want to post it from the tabs on the left of the page. Enter your email and password for the site and your DoodleBox will be automatically posted. Alternatively, you can copy the code for your DoodleBox from the same page and manually post it in the appropriate section on your profile.
To remove a DoodleBox from your profile, simply delete its code from the section of your profile that it was posted in.
Simply click on the Click to Change link provided near the title.
To make your DoodleBox more accessible or visible on www.actonme.com, you have to promote it. To do this, please follow these simple steps while you’re in the process of creating your DoodleBox:
You can even assign tags to your DoodleBox after you’ve created it. While you’re viewing your DoodleBox, add tags by clicking on the Add tag link in the Manage Your DoodleBox section on the right.
Promoting your DoodleBox will make it easier for other users to find it. Become a star on ActOnMe!
While you’re viewing your DoodleBox, you will notice a box on the right titled Manage DoodleBox. Click on the Delete DoodleBox link at the bottom of that box. You will be asked to confirm the deletion.
Please note that once you delete your DoodleBox, all the doodles that have been made in that DoodleBox will also be deleted and your stats will be altered accordingly.
You have the option of approving each doodle your friends make on your DoodleBox. You can do this by moderating your DoodleBox. To do this, click on the thumbnail of the DoodleBox you want to moderate. On the right of the page, there will be a box marked Manage DoodleBox. Click on the Settings link at the top right of the box. In the settings menu, check the Moderate Doodles box to approve all doodles before they are added to your DoodleBox. You can also moderate the comments that people leave for your DoodleBox by checking the Moderate Comments box. To make your DoodleBox private or “Invite Only”, check the Invite Only box. Click on Save to update your settings.
If your DoodleBox is moderated, then you will have to approve each doodle added to it. To approve the doodles, follow these steps:
So your friend just threw you a bad one, eh? You don’t want to delete the doodle, but you don’t want to put it out there for public consumption. So you simply hide it so that only you can view it. To do so, follow these steps:
Some people have no taste. Really. So what do you do if you don’t like a doodle added to your DoodleBox? You delete it. Here’s how:
To add a doodle to a DoodleBox, click on the Click Here to add your Doodle button in the bottom right corner of the DoodleBox. A toolbar will appear pop up on the left of the picture. You can choose a variety of tools to bling the picture.
Or you can take the easy way out and simply drag and drop a sticker from the scrollable row of stickers on the right of the picture.
You can make all kinds of doodles. Let your imagination run wild or simply copy a brilliant idea of another. If you fancy yourself to be an artist, then you can draw on a picture using the Draw tool. If you think words are your forte, then you can use the Text tool to leave an outrageous comment. If you like to spice things up, we have a whole suite of Stickers. These are interesting pre-made icons that you can add to spice up your doodle.
No, you can’t edit someone else’s doodle.
Doodles are moderated to allow the author of the DoodleBox to reject those doodles which he/she feels are inappropriate.
If you left a valid email address while adding a doodle to a DoodleBox, then we’ll send you an email informing you when your doodle is approved by the author of the DoodleBox.
Sometimes, when you add a doodle to a DoodleBox, it may not appear in the order you expected. This could happen if the DoodleBox is moderated and your doodle was added to a moderation queue. People who have submitted doodles before you did for moderation will have their doodles appear before yours in the DoodleBox.
When you click on the Click Here to add your doodle button, the toolbar that pops up on the left side of the picture you want to bling contains tools that will help you create unique and interesting doodles. These are the various tools:
The Selector allows you to select a doodle you have created and to edit it.
We’ve made this fairly easy. All you have to do is drag and drop a sticker from the scrollable row of stickers on the right of the photo in the DoodleBox.
If you’re using several tools while blinging a photo, then, for the row of stickers to appear, you’ll have to select the Sticker tool from the toolbar that pops up when you click on the Select Tool button in the bottom left corner of the DoodleBox.
You can choose the category of the stickers you want to add to a photo by clicking on the drop down list above the row of stickers. The category is set to Most Popular by default.
To bring out the artist in you, use the Draw tool to bling a photo:
Put words into your friend’s mouth with the help of the Text tool:
A Visual Signature is what its name implies. When you add a doodle to someone’s DoodleBox, your doodle is labeled with your name and picture that appear on the top of the DoodleBox. So, each time your doodle appears in the DoodleBox, your name and picture will accompany it. If you’re planning on doing something particularly nasty to your friend’s picture, you will have to own up for it.
To resize an object or sticker that you’ve added to your doodle, you first have to select it with the Selector. Then, you can drag the outline that appears in the direction that you want to ‘stretch’ or resize the object.
To delete an object or sticker in a doodle, you will have to select it first. When you select an object, a cross will appear in the top right corner of the outline. This is the delete button. Click on it to delete that particular object or sticker from your doodle.
To clone an object in a doodle, select it and click on the Copy button that appears in the space below the photo in the DoodleBox.
To save a doodle that you have added to a DoodleBox, click on the Save button at the top of the DoodleBox.
If you don’t like the doodle you’ve made on a photo and want to start afresh, click on the Clear Screen button in the bottom right corner of the DoodleBox.
You can only send a DoodleBox as a gift if you’re a registered user of ActOnMe.
To send one of your DoodleBoxes as a gift to someone, please follow these steps:

Or, you can send the gift through email or via a link by clicking on the Send via email or link option.

Not really. While you’re viewing a DoodleBox, you will notice three tabs on the right side of the page.
More By Author will show you other DoodleBoxes created by the same author.
Meet The Doodlers will show you the list of users who have doodled on the DoodleBox you are viewing. You can click on their thumbnails to view their profiles and the DoodleBoxes they have created.

To view all your favorite DoodleBoxes, click on My Stuff on the Browse page and select the Favorites tab under it.
While browsing, you might come across a DoodleBox that offends your sensibilities. You can let us know by flagging it. To do so, click on the Flag as Inappropriate tab at the bottom of the DoodleBox. We will review it against our Terms of Use and take appropriate action.
You can only view a private DoodleBox if you have been explicitly invited to do so by the author of the DoodleBox. If a user invites you to view a private DoodleBox, then you’ll be sent an email with a token or a key that will enable you to view it. You will have to enter that key each time you want to view that DoodleBox.
To make your profile private, simply follow these steps:
You can change back your profile type to Public whenever you wish.
If you feel that you’d rather not share a particular DoodleBox that you’ve created, you have the option to make it “invite only”. That means that only those people, who you have explicitly allowed to view your DoodleBox, will be able to view it. To do so, please follow these steps:
Please note that if you’ve made a DoodleBox private, then it will not show up in the browse section. That means when people are browsing for widgets, they will not be able to see yours.
At any time, you can make your DoodleBox public by following the above steps and un-checking the Invite Only option.
If you’ve marked a DoodleBox as private, then it will not show up when other users are browsing through DoodleBoxes. However, you can invite your friends to view your private DoodleBox. You can do this by clicking on the ‘Invite’ link below the DoodleBox and entering the emails of the friends you wish to share the DoodleBox with.
A message will be sent to them, along with a token or a key that will enable them to view your private DoodleBox.
